April 1, 2008: TRYOUT INFORMATION

Come join the 2008 Gallaudet Fall Cheerleading and Stuntmen team! Tryouts will be held the last week of April in the Field House.

Dates and Times:
Tuesday, April 29th and Wednesday, April 30th from 4:30p to 6:30p
 
Tryouts consist of performing a chant, several jumps (toe touch, herkie, and a jump of your choice), stunts, and tumbling (encouraged but not required).

For the tryout day you are required to wear blue shorts, white shirt, and gym shoes.  No jewelry is allowed.  Ten points will be deducted if jewelry is worn on tryout day.

Practices are tentatively set for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4:30-6:30pm during the football season.  The Gallaudet Cheerleading and Stuntmen will cheer and perform for home games and hopefully compete at a competition in the region.

Requirements if you become Bison cheerleader/stuntmen:
An athletics physical must be completed by SHS; the cost of the physical is $20.00.  This must be done by Monday, April 28th.

All forms must be given to Coach Wiatrowski at tryouts on Tuesday, April 29th in order to participate.

2007 UCA Private Camp

Gallaudet's cheerleaders recently participated in a two-day private camp led by Universal Cheerleading Association instructors Scott Thomas, a former cheerleader for the nationally ranked cheerleading squad from Slippery Rock University, and Christine DonFrancesco from George Mason University. They worked with the Bison cheerleaders on advanced stunts and taught them a new dance and several chants.
