Jon Vaughan begins his sixth year at Gallaudet University asthe Head Athletic Trainer. He is mainly responsible for preventing,recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that resultduring practices and games. 
Vaughan is originally from South Boston, Va. He graduated in2004 from James Madison University, receiving a degree in HealthSciences with concentration in Athletic Training. Vaughan is aboard certified Athletic Trainer and a Corrective ExerciseSpecialist approved by National Adademy of SportsMedicine. 
After graduation, Vaughan worked and studied overseas in Prague,Czech Republic. As an Athletic Trainer, he worked with the PragueLions of the Czech Football League. He helped to assist the teamwin the 2005 Czech Super Bowl. Vaughan loves to travel to differentcountries and has made it his life-long goal to visit as many aspossible.
During the 2005-06 school year, he worked at Notre DameAcademy in Middleburg, Va., where he provided Athletic TrainingServices for their 19 athletic teams. The following year, he waswelcomed to Gallaudet's Athletics Department where he has overseenthe Athletic Training Services for our 14 NCAA Athletic Teams. Hecontinued his education at Gallaudet University's College ofProfessional Studies in order to develop a fluency in American SignLanguage. In the summer of 2011, Vaughan presented at 62nd NationalAthletic Trainers Annual Meeting on the topic: Working withDeaf and Hard of Athletes.
On a personal note, Vaughan is involved in several non-profitorganizations. He is a board of director for the New RhythmProject, which is a non-profit organization focusing on the needsof orphans and abused children. He is also the Deaf and MedicalLeader for Champions in Action, an organization in Guatemala thatconnects disadvantage youth with life-long mentors.

He currently resides in Falls Church, Va., with his wife, AnneMarie, and their daughter, Zera Grace.
