Bison endure difficult loss, score in final inning

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Gallaudet played host to University of the Sciences, Philadelphia (USP) on Sunday afternoon at Hoy Field. USP took the game, 30-2.

For most of the game, the USP bats brought runs in against a Bison bullpen that saw four pitchers seeing action. Seniors Ryan Lentz and Warren Keller, freshman Zane Noschese, John Moore, Jr. worked together in efforts to quash the visitors’ scoring opportunities.

The scoring inning for the Bison was in the bottom of the 7th, when rightfielder Justin Lathus singled, advancing Bison runners and loading the bases.  Then, freshman A.J. Williams reached on an error, bringing home two runners to avert the shutout.

Gallaudet (0-2, 0-1 CAC) will take on Mary Washington in continuing conference play on Wednesday, February 27. The first pitch goes at 3:00 p.m. at Hoy Field.
