Bison fall to Wolverines

DOVER, DE--Gallaudet hit the road in continuing conference play, taking on the Wesley College Wolverines in Delaware in a doubleheader. Wesley took both games, 24-1, 31-1.
In game one, Kevin Alley went 2-for-3, and Christian Deaton had a 2-for-2 outing. Bruce Saperstein brought home the lone score for the Bison, preventing the shutout.
The Buff and Blue scored in the top of the fifth, when Saperstein walked and then stole second. After Matt Goeb struck out, Zane Noschese had a sacrifice bunt, moving Saperstein to third and Warren Keller who was also walked, to second. Kevin Alley hit a single through the right side, picking up a RBI when Saperstein reached home. Keller was picked off at third as he was caught stealing to end the inning.
Ryan Lentz (0-3) pitched his first complete game of the season, striking out three batters in six innings.
Game two saw John Moore, Jr., Warren Keller and Kevin Alley sharing mound time. While Moore, Jr. (0-1) picked up the loss after three innings of work, Keller struck out one in the two innings he pitched.
The Bison picked up their score in the top of the fourth when Alley reached home after hitting a double to right center. When Lentz singled to center field, Alley raced home from second.
Despite the lopsided scoring in both games, the Bison did not allow the Wolverines to pick up shutouts in either game.
