WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Gallaudet University baseball team couldn't follow-up the biggest win in program history with a fourth straight win Thursday as the Bison lost to a tough Rutgers-Camden squad, 14-9, at Chain of Lakes Park.

The Bison (7-11) scored three runs in the top of the first inning to give starting pitcher Marcus Smith (Baltimore, Md.) an early lead. Rutgers-Camden (9-6) scored at least one run from the third to the eighth innings to take over the game.

Junior outfielder William Bissell (Brewer, Maine) went 4-for-4 and finished a double shy of a cycle. Bissell hit his second home run of the season and drove in four RBIs and scored three runs for the Bison.

Donnie Haines was the leading hitter for Rutgers-Camden as he went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored two runs and recorded five RBIs. He had a double and home run for the home team.

Gallaudet will close out its spring break trip with a doubleheader against No. 25 Washington & Jefferson on Friday, March 22, at 9 a.m.
