Gallaudet baseball announces 2015 schedule

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University baseball team and Coach Curtis Pride have announced the baseball schedule for the 2015 season. The schedule lists a total of 39 games, including 21 at home on Hoy Field, and six games on a Spring Break trip to Orlando, Fla. After three consecutive seasons of winning 20 or more games and two straight years of hosting the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) tournament the Bison are hoping to add to those streaks in 2015.

Here is a breakdown of the 2015 baseball schedule.

Gallaudet begins the season at home with a non-conference game against Southern Vermont College on Feb 21. GU will then host former NEAC foe Penn St.-Harrisburg on Feb. 22 for two games. The Bison will then make the short trip to Arlington, Va., to go up against another Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opponent in Marymount (Va.) University on Feb. 25. Gallaudet rounds out the month of February with a home doubleheader with Valley Forge Christian College on Feb. 28.

The month of March finds the Bison still home at Hoy Field as they welcome SUNY Oneonta for two non-conference games on March 1. GU's next four games are at home against regional power Christopher Newport University on March 6 followed by two games with Baptist Bible (Pa.) College on March 7 and one game against McDaniel College (March 10). The Bison will then head south for its Spring Break trip to Florida where it will play six games.

Upon their return from Orlando the baseball team will go back to the road to play Rivier University at Regency Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, in Waldorf, Md. March will end with a home game against Frostburg State University (March 22) and two more away games at Catholic University of America (March 25) and national power Salisbury University (March 29).

The Bison will begin April with conference games at home against Lancaster Bible College (April 4) before a road game at Washington College on April 6. GU will then host NEAC doubleheaders against SUNYIT (April 11) and Cazenovia College (April 12). The Bison wrap-up this five-game homestand with a single game with regional power Shenandoah University (April 15). The last six games of the month are NEAC doubleheaders on the road at Penn College (April 18) and Keuka College (April 19) before heading home to host Penn St.-Abington (April 25).

Senior Day falls on May 2 when the Bison welcome reigning NEAC tournament champion Penn St.-Berks to campus for two conference games. Gallaudet then wraps up the regular season schedule on the road in St. Mary's City, Md., against St. Mary's (Md.) College (May 3).

The NEAC baseball tournament begins May 8 and runs through the weekend.
