Bison close season with aims of more wins and preparation for Division III play

The 2006 season ended with a record of 6-2, along with a healthy
stat of 15-2 over the past two seasons. This included two games
lost by very slim margins, to Becker College (18-15) and
Bridgewater College (21-20). Despite the losses, Head Coach Ed
Hottle remains optimistic for 2007 and the return to Division III
status after 12 years as a club sport. He aims to lead the team to
more wins through launching a strong off-season recruiting campaign
and reviewing solid fundamentals of the game.
The focus is not only on the field, but in the classroom as well.
Coach Hottle will keep up study tables, grade reports, and
communications with university faculty members to ensure his
players continue to represent the University’s
student-athletes.
The team is poised for a new challenge at the elite levels of
Division III football. This division is filled with bigger, faster
players, different coaching and game philosophies, and stronger,
more competitive teams.
Hottle plans to work on the team on a wider scope than ever,
developing coaching and player skills; ensuring his players commit
to a rigorous off-season weight training regimen; looking for more
consistent offensive production; and having all returning players
come back with a better understanding of their roles on the team,
as well as their place on the team as a unit.
