Gallaudet announces its 2007 football schedule

The Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the return of
football to NCAA Division-III after 11 years. The last time
Gallaudet competed as a full time member of D-III was 1996.
Gallaudet will open its season September 1st on the road against
St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. St. Vincent will also
be fielding a team for the first time in 45 years and will compete
in the Presidents Athletic Conference.
The Bison will have a 10-game schedule, with eight games against
DIII schools, and two vs. Non DIII opponents.

For the past two seasons the Bison have been building towards the
return to D III football, competing against varsity, junior
varsity, & club teams. The Bison have built a strong
foundation, amassing a record or 15-2 highlighted by the first
victory over a D III opponent since 1991, a September 2006 win over
SUNY-Maritime.
The Bison hope to build on this momentum, but realize the road
ahead will be very challenging. “We still have a long way to
go”, admits Bison Head Coach Ed Hottle, adding “We are
much better now, but the challenges of the upcoming season will
certainly be a huge test for our program. We have made great
strides over the past two seasons and I am very proud of the work
we have done. The next step is a big one, and we have to be ready
to meet the challenges that this level of competition
offers.”
