Gallaudet University Football Camp Opens Thursday

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The 2009 season begins for the Gallaudet University football team on Thursday, August 13, as 75 student-athletes report to campus for the start of football camp. GU coach Ed Hottle enters his fifth season at the helm and is excited to kick-off camp as his staff welcomes veterans and new faces to campus.

"We are excited to begin football camp," said Hottle. "We have a nice group of veterans back and a lot of newcomers we can't wait to see out on the field. The players know they need to give their all as there will be healthy competition at all positions."

The Bison will train at Hotchkiss Field for the next several weeks leading up to their first game on Saturday, September 5, at home against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at 1 p.m.

Gallaudet's men's and women's soccer and volleyball teams will begin fall camp on Friday, August 21. The men's and women's cross country teams begin camp on Monday, August 24.
