Wilson kicks his way to third ECFC Offensive Player of the Week honor

WHITINGHAM, Vt. - The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference named its players of the week for November 9 and Gallaudet University senior kicker/punter Justin Wilson (Phoenix, Ariz.) was named Special Teams Player of the Week for a third time this season after the Bison won 16-13 over SUNY Maritime in the final minute last Friday night. This is the eighth ECFC award for the Bison this season.

Wilson averaged 35.6 yards per punt for Gallaudet in a game where possession was key. He was able to help the Bison defense as he made five punts for 178 yards with a long of 43 yards and one punt inside the 20. Wilson also booted three kickoffs for 172 yards (average of 57.3 yards).

Wilson was also recognized by the conference back on September 28 and October 5. Senior quarterback Jimmy Gardner (St. Augustine, Fla.) and sophomore running back Phillip Hayes (Baton Rouge, La.) have earned two ECAC Offensive Players of the Week awards. Gardener was honored on September 14 and October 26 while Hayes was selected on September 28 and November 2. Freshman Kevin Allen (Houston, Texas) earned ECFC Defensive Player of the Week (October 5) honors in Week 5.

The other ECFC weekly honors for Week 10 were awarded to Husson University running back Julius Williams (Offensive Player of the Week), SUNY Maritime linebacker Mike Oehl (Defensive Player of the Week) and Castleton State College quarterback Shane Brozowski (Rookie of the Week).
