WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Recreation Sandy McLennon has been nominated by junior defensive lineman Tyler Snider to be an "Honorary" Gallaudet Football Coach for the Bison's (1-0) upcoming game against The Apprentice School (0-1) on Saturday, Sept. 14, 1 p.m. at Hotchkiss Field.
The honor recognizes McLennon's commitment to teaching and leading the Bison student-athletes on a daily basis in the classroom and going above and beyond her job requirements to ensure their success. Her impact on the student-athletes is noticed and appreciated by the coaches as well.
"On behalf of our student-athletes I want to thank Sandy for her contributions to the Gallaudet campus community and the time she spends molding young people," said Gallaudet football head coach Chuck Goldstein.
McLennon will lead the team onto the field an hour before kickoff and spend the rest of the game on the Bison sideline. She has taught at Gallaudet for the past 26 years.
