Overall student-athlete academic performance improves in 2006-07

last season; Villa Julie and Wesley were added and will be included
in the 2007-08 reports. A close-up of the chart at right is

Gallaudet's 2006-07 average (44%) shows an increase of 22% over six years, currently ranking fourth in the conference behind Goucher, St. Mary's, and York College.
For the first time since this report was conducted by the CAC, Gallaudet has finished above the CAC average, an important milestone in our student-athlete academic achievement.

The chart depicts Gallaudet's mobility within the CAC membership. Gallaudet (gold-colored line) started at the bottom in 2000, and has since made dramatic improvements over six years, in large part attributable to a committed group of student-athletes that participate in regular study tables with their peers.
As part of the continued commitment and support of the university community, the Department of Athletics staff voted in August 2007 to put into effect the following academic standards:
- Incoming freshmen and transfer students are required to
participate in study tables for the entire academic year and
maintain at least a 3.0 GPA; and
- Sophomores and juniors whose GPA falls below 3.2 will be required to participate in study tables until their GPA is brought back to 3.2 or better.
