WASHINGTON, D.C. - A dozen Gallaudet University men's basketball alumni returned to Kendall Green on Friday, October 23, to participate in an alumni scrimmage as part of the annual Hoops Hysteria event that begins the new season for the Bison.

The scrimmage lasted 20 minutes as players from various years, spanning from 1965 to 2009, and different parts of the country showed off their moves in front of the Gallaudet student body and current Bison team. Alumni that returned to play in the scrimmage include John Bradley '67, Mel Creamer '77, Mark Myers '80, Kevin Cummings '82, Patrick Kuehn '85, Kazeem Babatunde '06, David Farias '06, Bradley Miller '06, Brendan Stern '06, Stephen DaSilva '06, Onyemachi Davis '08 and Chi Ming Pun '09. GU basketball alumni observers on hand included current Athletic Director Michael Weinstock '81 and volleyball coach Lynn Ray Boren '96.

Gallaudet coach Jeb Barber announced the alumni scrimmage will be an annual event and hopes to see more alumni next year with the chance to lengthen the game. The scrimmage is a great way to honor the rich basketball history at Gallaudet and showcase the University.

The 2009-10 Bison men's basketball team will begin the new season on Sunday, November 15, at home against Randolph College at 5 p.m.
