Bison drop a pivotal conference game on the road against Penn St.-Abington

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball team North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) playoff chances took a hit Sunday as the Bison lost 85-74 on the road against Penn St.-Abington.

Gallaudet (10-14, 6-7 NEAC South) will need some help this week, the final week of conference play for the regular season, and the Bison will need to win their final game this coming Saturday.

Penn St.-Abington (11-12, 9-3 NEAC South) increased its winning streak to seven straight as the Nittany Lions sit in first place of the NEAC South Division. Two of Abington's seven wins came against Gallaudet.

The Nittany Lions controlled the game from start to finish and led by double digits for the majority of the second half. Penn St.-Abington took a 41-30 lead into halftime while the second half saw both teams score 44 points.

Senior center Danny Kelly (Strongsville, Ohio) scored a game-high 27 points off the bench as he made 11-of-18 shots from the field, including two 3-pointers, and grabbed eight rebounds. Senior guard Layton Seeber (Champaign, Ill.) added 22 points as he made 4-of-8 3-pointers.

The Nittany Lions had four players score double figures led by Mike Colacci's 20-point performance.

GU will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 16, with a home game against conference foe Penn St.-Berks (10-11, 8-3 NEAC South) at 2 p.m.
