GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Dec. 14 and Gallaudet University senior Trey Gordon (Talladega, Ala.) was selected as the Men's Basketball Player of the Week. This is Gordon's first NEAC Player of the Week honor this season and second of his career.
Gordon led the Bison (2-4) to a pair of wins behind some hot shooting en route to being the leading scorer in each victory. Gordon led all players with 20 points behind five 3-pointers and 6-of-11 shooting overall in a 68-60 victory over Eastern Mennonite University last Tuesday, where he also grabbed five rebounds. He again led all players with 17 points after sinking four more 3-pointers while also swiping a game-high four steals and grabbing three rebounds in an 81-52 win over University of Valley Forge last Saturday. He averaged 18.5 points per game as he shot 57 percent from the field and 56 percent from 3-point range. Gordon also averaged 4.0 rebounds per game and 2.5 steals. In six games, Gordon is averaging 16.7 points per game and his 21 3-pointers are fourth most in the NEAC.
This is Gallaudet's first NEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor this season
The Bison will wrap up the semester at Goucher College on Saturday, Dec. 19, to face the Gophers (4-6) in a non-conference game at 2 p.m.
