WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet University men's basketball team continues to search for its first win of the season as the Bison lost 71-64 here Sunday against Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.
Gallaudet (0-4, 0-1 NEAC) led 62-58 with 3:25 left in regulation before Penn College (2-4, 2-0 NEAC) closed out the game on a 13-2 run. GU missed six shots and turned the ball over twice as the Bison were forced to send the Wildcats to the free-throw line in the closing minutes. Penn College made 7 of 8 from the charity stripe to help seal the win.
Four starters were in double figures for the Bison led by senior Trey Gordon (Talladega, Ala.) who made 5 of 11 shots from 3-point range and finished with 17 points. Junior Shawn Harrington (Frederick, Md.) poured in 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds while senior guard Todd Bonheyo (Frederick, Md.) scored 14, grabbed six rebounds and passed out three assists. Sophomore Andy Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.) added 10 points to go with three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Penn College led 33-29 at the half and outscored Gallaudet 38-35 in the second half.
Forward Kevin Laurence-El led all-scorers with 27 points as he made 10 of 17 shots and teammates Thomas Ross chipped in 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Gallaudet will make its home debut on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 5 p.m. against Eastern Mennonite University in the Field House.
