Current and former Bison to represent Team USA in Pan American Basketball Tournament

WASHINGTON - Current and former Gallaudet University men's basketball players will represent Team USA in the 2016 Pan American Basketball Tournament being held at Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, Md., from July 1-6.

Gallaudet men's basketball head coach Kevin Kovacs is an assistant coach on Team USA alongside head coach James DeStefano and assistant coach Mike Yance.

Current Bison on Team USA include Joshua McGriff (Somerset, N.J.), Andy Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.), Raymond Nelson (Riverside, Calif.) and Shawn Harrington (Frederick, Md.). Former Bison on Team USA include Jeremias Valencia, Robert Haney, Orion PalmerTrey Gordon, Layton Seeber and Frank Jackson. Noah Valencia and in-coming GU student Preston Kelly round out the Team USA roster.

Team USA will begin the tournament on Friday, July 1, at 7:30 p.m. against Venezuela right after the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony at 6 p.m. Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago are the other countries represented in the tournament.
