Methodist runs up score on Gallaudet

GREENSBORO, N.C. - It was a tough day for the Gallaudet University men's soccer team as the Bison lost 17-0 to Methodist College on the second day of the Guilford College Classic on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C.
Gallaudet (0-2) was held to one shot made by junior forward Aldo Cornejo in the second half. Bison goalie Poloko Qobose made a season-high 17 saves in the loss.
The Monarchs (1-1) scored the game's first eight goals to take an 8-0 lead in halftime. In the second half, Methodist tacked on nine more goals en route to the 17-goal victory. Methodist's starters combined to score 14 of the 17 goals and seven of the nine goals in the second half. Monarch starting forward Dane Rawson scored a game-high four goals including a header goal in the 83rd minute of the game.
Methodist outshot Gallaudet 60-1 and took seven corner kicks.
Gallaudet will next face Christendom College on Wednesday, September 9, in a non-conference road game.
