GU men's soccer drops 50th straight game
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The losses continue to mount for the Gallaudet University men's soccer team as the Bison suffered their 50th consecutive loss on Wednesday afternoon. Gallaudet was shut out for the 11th time this season as Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) foe University of Mary Washington handed the visiting Bison a 9-0 loss.
Gallaudet (0-15, 0-6 CAC) has two final CAC game left in its program history before the Bison move to the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) next season. The Bison have only won three conference games since it joined the conference in 1991. This season Gallaudet has been outscored 52-0 in the six CAC games it has played.
Mary Washington (10-4, 5-0 CAC), who had nine different goal scorers, played 28 players including four different goalies. UMW scored two quick goals in the first two minutes and then added two more before the half as the Eagles led 4-0.
Junior Zane Noschese (Pittsburgh, Pa.) took the only shot for the Bison in the first half. UMW outshot Gallaudet 31-1 in the game. Sophomore goalie Poloko Qobose (Gaborone, Botswana) had the lowest save total of the season as he stopped five shots.
GU will host Penn State Harrisburg, a member of the NEAC, on Saturday, October 17, at 3:30 p.m. at Hotchkiss Field.
