No. 23 York defeats Gallaudet in shortened game

YORK, Pa. - The Gallaudet University men's soccer team lost 7-0 on the road Wednesday against No. 23 York (Pa.) College. The Capital Athletic Conference game was called with 19 minutes left in the second half due to darkness.
Gallaudet (0-11, 0-4 CAC) was held without a shot for the third time this season as York took 31 shots. The Bison have not scored a goal in a CAC game this season.
The Spartans (8-0-2, 3-0-1 CAC), ranked in the national coaches poll at No. 23 and in the D3soccer.com media poll at No. 3, received very balance scoring. Seven different Spartans scored one goal while six of the York goals were assisted. The Spartans led 5-0 at halftime.
Sophomore goalie Poloko Qobose (Gaborone, Botswana) made eight saves in the loss.
The game was originally slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. but the game got pushed back because Gallaudet had transportation problems.
GU will next make the short trip north to face Washington Adventist University, formerly known as Columbia Union, on Friday, October 2, at 2 p.m.
