KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team ventured to New York for two North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games this weekend and kicked things off with Keuka College on Saturday afternoon. The Storm raced out to a quick 2-0 lead 15 minutes in and didn't look back en route to a 7-0 victory.
Keuka (5-1, 2-1 NEAC) received a hat trick from Ron Burd as he scored three straight goals in a 25-minute span that began in the first half and crossed over to the second half. John Mastrella scored the game's first and third goals for the Storm as they led 4-0 at the half.
Gallaudet (0-5, 0-2 NEAC) was outshot 29-5 and only had five corner kick opportunities compared to the nine by the Storm in a very physical game where five yellow cards were assessed.
Junior forward Jean-Pierre Kanashiro (Springfield, Va.) led the Bison with four shots (one on goal) while junior midfielder Richard Spiecker (Rochester, N.Y.) had the other shot, on goal, for the Buff and Blue.
The Bison will complete their New York weekend tomorrow (Sunday, September 25) when they face-off against Wells College at 1 p.m.
