GU men's swimming team begins season with CAC Double Dual Meet
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Gallaudet University men's swimming team began its season against two of the top teams in the Capital Athletic Conference in powerhouse University of Mary Washington and Salisbury University on Halloween. GU dropped both matches against the conference opponents at the Field House pool on Saturday afternoon. UMW handed Gallaudet a 110-39 defeat and lost 108-35 to Salisbury in the double dual meet.
Junior Daniel DiDonna led the way for the Bison as he finished fourth overall in two different events for the Buff and Blue. He touched the wall with a time of 31.08 seconds in the 50-yard breaststroke to earn three points against Salisbury and two points against Mary Washington. DiDonna finished with a time of 1:09.44 in the 100-yard breaststroke, which earned GU three points against SU and two against UMW.
Gallaudet will next travel to St. Mary's City, Md., to participate in a double dual meet with CAC foe St. Mary's (Md.) College and Goucher College on Saturday, November 7, at 1 p.m. The meet will be a good run through for the Bison as the 2010 CAC championships return back to St. Mary's on February 12-14.
