MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men’s track and field team participated in the Millersville Metrics on Saturday hosted by Millersville University at Biemesderfer Stadium. The Bison went up against stiff competition as the field featured Division I, II and III programs. There were no team scores kept.
Gallaudet’s top performer was sophomore Darius Flowers (Birmingham, Ala.) in the triple jump as he won this event for the fourth time this season, where he is undefeated. He jumped 13.88 meters to take first place while East Stroudsburg’s Brandon Hillman finished second at 13.76 meters.
Sophomore sprinter Shawn Gordon-Davis finished 22nd in the 200-meter dash as the top Bison with a time of 24.17 seconds. GU had three other finishers in that event. Gordon-Davis, Flowers and sophomore Shelby Bean (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and sophomore Kelvin Lunn (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished sixth in the 4x100 meter relay as the crew crossed the finish line with a time of 46.19 seconds.
Gallaudet will next head north to Baltimore on Saturday, April 16, to participate in the Johns Hopkins University-Loyola University Invitational held at the Loyola Track Complex.
