GU cross country teams to conduct litter cleanup service project on Saturday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University men’s and women’s cross country teams will be cleaning up the running/walking paths and side walk areas around Gallaudet University on Saturday, Oct. 20, from noon-3 p.m.

The project is open to anyone on campus including faculty, staff and students who want to join the teams cleaning up the side walk areas along Florida Ave., 6th Street, Mt. Olivet, Corcoran St. and Brentwood Parkway.

The idea to remove the litter and trash stemmed from the team’s frequent training runs through the surrounding neighborhoods.

“We take pride in our school and the community and want to spruce things up a bit so students, staff, and members of the community can feel a sense of pride as we do, as they walk along campus and the surrounding areas,” said Gallaudet cross country coach Mikaela Hudson.

If anyone is interested in joining the cross country teams on Saturday please e-mail assistant coach Katelyn Reese at katelyn.reese@gallaudet.edu.
