Gallaudet cross country set to run at 2015 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional meet on Saturday

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's cross country team and three runners from the women's cross country team will travel to Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa. to compete in the 2015 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional meet on Saturday, Nov. 14. The women's 6K race begins at 11 a.m. followed by the men's 8K race at 12:30 p.m.

The men's team finished fourth overall at the 2015 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship meet two weeks ago as three runners landed on the all-conference teams. Freshman Otto Kingstedt (Stockholm, Sweden) made school history as he won the race and earned NEAC Runner and Rookie of the Year honors. He also earned a spot on the All-NEAC first team along with fellow freshman Vicente Perez (Cicero, Ill.), who finished fifth overall. Junior and veteran runner Alex Close (Tallahassee, Fla.), who is the first Gallaudet cross country runner to earn three All-NEAC honors, earned third team all-conference honors for his 18th place finish. Sophomores Dylan Rich (Brockton, Mass.), John Isaacson (Clive, Iowa), Joshua Branscomb (Memphis, Tenn.) and senior Gabriel Carino (Bronx, N.Y.) fill out GU's team for Saturday. The first seven individual runners to finish will advance to the NCAA Division III championship race on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Wisconsin.

Bison senior Lindsey Corthell (Orlando, Fla.) and sophomores Shellane McKitty (Yonkers, N.Y.) and Ivy Sahneyah (First Mesa, Ariz.) will compete for the women's team.
