SALISBURY, Md. - Gallaudet University freshman Otto Kingstedt (Stockholm, Sweden) was less then second away from winning the SU Fall Classic on Saturday morning at Winterplace Park. Kingstedt finished second overall with an 8K time of 26 minutes, 8.98 seconds just behind the winner Michael Karls (26:07.88) from the U.S. Naval Academy.
Kingstedt's time in his buff and blue debut places him fourth all-time in school history with his 8K time.
Gallaudet finished ninth overall with 227 team points out of 10 teams. Rowan University won the meet with 39 points as its top five runners placed in the Top 12 places.
Freshman Vicente Perez (Cicero, Ill.) and junior Alex Close (Tallahassee, Fla.) were Gallaudet next two runners to cross the finish line. Perez was 73rd overall with a time of 30:20.86 while Close was three spots back in 76th place (30:46.35).
- GU had nine runners compete in the meet
- The Bison's other Top 5 runners were sophomores Dylan Rich (Brockton, Mass.) and John Isaacson (Clive, Iowa). Rich was 89th (32:18.64) and Isaacson was 98th (34:44.53).
- Gallaudet's average time for its nine runners was 30:51.88
- The Bison finished 80 points higher than last place Southern Virginia

The Bison are off next week before hitting the road on Saturday, Sept. 19, to run in the Penn St.-Abington Invitational at Lorimer Park.
