Bison prevail in game two against Randolph-Macon
Lynchburg, VA--In game two, the Bison took an early 5-1 lead
after two innings. A three-run inning in the third by the
WildCats tied the game 5-5. Both the WildCats and Bison scored one
run in the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings. The
Bison tallied five runs in the eighth inning to win the game by a
score of 11-7. Sophomore Keri Schmidt led the Bison with four
runs, while Caitlin Mosholder had a team-high three hits and scored
twice. Schmidt, Stacey Jones and pitcher Jenna Owens each brought
home the necessary runs to preserve the first Bison win of the
season.
Pitcher Jenna Owens worked all 15 innings for eight strikeouts.
The Bison take on Wilson College on Sunday, March 4th in the
home season opener at 1:00 p.m.
