It has been a busy three days for the Gallaudet University softball team as the Bison kicked off their 2010 season this week at home. GU hosted University of Mary Washington on Thursday afternoon as the Eagles swept the Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader 14-2 and 14-5 in five innings.

Fielding woes hurt Gallaudet in doubleheader against Wilson
The Gallaudet University softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader against Wilson College on Tuesday at the GU Softball Field. The Bison committed a combined 10 errors, six in the first game, as Wilson shut out Gallaudet 7-0 and 13-0.

Gallaudet softball season opener delayed once more, Bison to host doubleheader on Tuesday
The Gallaudet University softball team continues to practice and prepare for the 2010 season, once slated to start on February 27, but the Bison will need to wait another five days before its first game. For the first time in 13 years the Beach Blast Tournament hosted by Virginia Wesleyan College has been canceled.

Gallaudet softball season delayed due to poor field conditions
The Gallaudet University softball team has announced several postponements to its 2010 schedule as poor field conditions and a damaged backstop will delay the start of the season. The backstop was damaged during the Blizzard of 2010 and is slated to be fixed this week.

It is not too late to join the 2010 Gallaudet University softball team under the direction of interim head coach Kitty Bottoms. The team is hard at work preparing for the new season and could use a few more players to contribute and add depth for the Bison plus a team manager.

Softball mandatory meeting set for Monday, September 21
The Gallaudet University athletics department will hold a mandatory meeting on Monday, September 21, at 4 p.m. in the Field House in room 142 for all students interested in playing softball this coming spring for the Bison. The meeting will be run by GU Athletic Director Michael Weinstock and assisted by several Bison coaches.
