Frostburg Turns Tables on Lady Bison

Washington, D.C. (11/26/06)—In a sport where a delicate balance between offense and defense hangs for victory, the Lady Bison could not find their sync against the Lady Bobcats.  With an offense in its groove that produced 78 points the night before, Gallaudet struggled to re-capture that same groove, scoring only 53.
The Lady Bison worked hard to ignite rallies in the 2nd half after a strong 1st half performance.  The game at several points changed leads back and forth before key free throws and field goal opportunities were squandered as the Lady Bobcats pushed ahead in the 2nd half behind Krystin Hargrove and Tracie George.
All-tournament pick Shabnam Razmpour garnered 13 points, 7 rebounds and a steal behind guard Tamara Foronda’s team-leading 15-point performance.  Foronda continued her free-throw frenzy, going 9-for-11 from the line.  Over two games, Razmpour put up 29 points, grabbed 15 boards, made 2 assists and a steal.
Sophomore point guard Kallie Williams was good for 12 points in today’s game.  Freshman Brittany Payne jumped for 7 boards, tying the team-high with Razmpour.  Payne was also 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
The All-Tournament Team selections are: Gallaudet’s Razmpour, Frostburg’s Tracie George and Krystin Hargrove (Tournament MVP), St. Joseph’s Lynette Reyes and Southern Vermont’s Jaleesa Marshall.
St. Joseph beat Southern Vermont in the consolation game, 70-59 to take 3rd place in the tournament.

The Lady Bison play next against Villa Julie (Baltimore, MD) at the Field House in another home matchup, Wednesday, November 29 at 7 p.m.
