Gallaudet Jumps to Big First Half Lead; Falls to Hood 68-59

Gallaudet started fast today opening an early double-digit lead against Hood, jumping to a 16-6 lead, which they held through much of the first half, before Hood slowly climbed back with several 3-pointers, resulting in a Hood victory 68-59 over Gallaudet in a Capital Athletic Conference battle.
Despite a strong Hood rally towards the end of the first half, Gallaudet went ahead 30-27 at the half. The second half was a different story as Hood was able to score all kinds of baskets, going 18-36 from the floor in the second half, outscoring Gallaudet 41-29. For the game Hood was 8-17 from behind the 3-point line, while Gallaudet made just one 3-pointer. Gallaudet did continue their usual domination on the boards, grabbing 41, while York had 27.
Nukeitra Hayes led Gallaudet with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Amanda Krieger made 7 out of 14 shotts, and scored 15 points. Ursa Rewolinski added 14 points on 7-10 shooting. Brittainy Payne dished out 11 assists and grabbed 10 rebounds.
With the loss, Gallaudet goes to 4-6 on the season and 0-3 in the CAC. Hood is 3-8 overall and 1-2 in the CAC. Gallaudet will try to rebound from tonight's loss when they play again in the Field House, Saturday, January 10 vs. Stevenson College at 2 pm.
