Gallaudet Leads Hood After 15 minutes: Falters Down the Stretch

Gallaudet came out fighting tonight and jumped out to a quick lead vs. Hood College, and dominated for much of the first half, but just ran out of steam, and lost 69-56.

Gallaudet played hard today, outrebounding Hood 41-36, but they blew their first half lead, allowing Hood to score the halfs' final seven points, to take a 34-28 halftime lead. In the second half, Hood came out ready to play, and went on an 8-0 run to start the half, increasing their lead to double figures, and the Bison could never get the lead under 10 the rest of the game. Gallaudet was also hurt by 22 turnovers.

Nukeitra Hayes played today despite not feeling well, and scored 15 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and had 4 assists in 29 minutes.  Ursa Rewolinski, playing in her hometown of Frederick, Maryland, had a double-double, with 12 points and 11 rebounds, along with 3 assists and 2 steals. Brittainy Payne led Gallaudet in rebounding and assists with 12 rebounds and 5 assists.

With the loss, Gallaudet is 5-14.  They next play Wednesday night at Stevenson College at 6 pm.
