Stevenson Defeats Gallaudet Despite Gallaudet's Huge Rebounding Advantage

Despite another big game from Nukeitra Hayes, Gallaudet was not able to defeat Stevenson College tonight, falling 63-45.  Hayes, ranked in the top five in the conference in points, rebounds, and blocks, scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, had 4 blocks and 2 steals, while doing all she could to try to lead Gallaudet to victory.

Gallaudet gave their all, and dominated on the boards tonight, grabbing 48 rebounds to 37 for Stevenson.  Ursa Rewolinski grabbed 13 rebounds to go along with 8 points.  Brittainy Payne scored 7 points, had 5 assists and 2 steals.

Gallaudet fell behind quickly in the first half 19-7 but rallied to close the gap to 19-16 on a jumper by Hayes, a lay-up by Delasha Singleton, a 3-pointer by Amanda Kreiger, and a jumper by Rewolinski that ended a 9-0 rally for Gallaudet. Stevenson increased their lead to ten at the half, 34-24.

Gallaudet returns home Saturday at 2 pm, where they will play Mary Washington in the Field House.  Gallaudet is 5-15.
