Gallaudet Defeats Trinity 66-58 To Double Win Total From Last Season
Gallaudet visiting nearby Trinity College today, and came away with their sixth win of the season, 66-58, doubling their total from last season, with one game remaining.
Led by Amanda Kreiger with 17 points, Gallaudet jumped to a 33-20 half-time lead, and were able to overcome foul trouble by Nukeitra Hayes, who fouled out after just playing 29 minutes. Hayes finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Ursa Rewolinski scored 16 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and had 2 steals. Brittainy Payne also had a big all-around game, scoring 9 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, dishing out 4 assists, and getting two steals.
As a team, Gallaudet made 17-23 free throws and outreboounded Trinity 36-32.
Gallaudet Head Coach Kevin Cook was proud of his team's effort in attaining their sixth win. "This was a nice team win! We have doubled the win total from a year ago and will look to the positives! We will continue to build and give our best effort against the conference champions on Wednesday night!"
Wednesday night, Gallaudet closes the 2008-09 season at York College at 6 pm. York has already clinched first place in the Capital Athletic Conference.
