Gallaudet Women's Basketball to host Parent/Daughter Basketball Clinic
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Gallaudet women's basketball team will be hosting their first annual Parent/Daughter Basketball Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Field House from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The clinic is open to all girls 7 to 18 years old and their parents and cost $10 per participant. Payment and registration are due by Friday, Oct. 12.
The clinic features the opportunity for parents and their children to learn the basics of basketball from head coach Stephanie Stevens, assistant coaches Sam Weber, Amelia Mowl and Easter Faafiti and the entire women's basketball team. This is a great opportunity for parents and their daughter(s) to learn about the game of basketball, spend quality time together and to have fun.
The three-and-a-half hour event will feature a welcome speech from Coach Stevens and her staff, basketball drills with the Bison players, and the opportunity to take photos with the team at the end of the event. Drills include ball handling, perimeter offensive skills, post offensive skills, as well as a session on fundamentals of basketball. Participants are encouraged to stick around for Gallaudet's open basketball practice from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. The team will also sell official GU women's basketball apparel at the clinic, please bring cash if you are interested in making a purchase.
