GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team was picked fifth in the first-ever North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) preseason coaches poll. The Bison accumulated 114 points in the 14-team preseason poll.
The Bison finished their 2014-15 season with a 14-11 overall record, 13-7 conference mark and third in the NEAC South Division. GU made the NEAC tournament for a second straight year and lost in the quarterfinal round.
Gallaudet finished one point behind Morrisville State College (115 points), who was picked fourth, while defending NEAC South Division champion Lancaster Bible College was picked first as the Chargers received 10 first-place votes and 163 points. SUNY Polytechnic Institute came in second with 150 points and two first-place votes followed by Penn St.-Abington (122) in third as the Nittany Lions had one first-place vote. The only other school to receive a first-place vote was Bryn Athyn College (78), who checked in at No. 10.
The Bison will begin their season at home on Saturday, Nov. 28, against Oberlin College at 2 p.m. in the Field House.
