WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's basketball team won it's first game of the season, 64-43, on the road here Sunday against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Penn College.
The Bison (1-2, 1-1 NEAC) took the lead early over the just under two minutes on a three-pointer by senior Danielle Warren (San Jose, Calif.) and were able to score 19 consecutive points before the Wildcats (1-3, 1-1 NEAC) scored a point on a free throw. GU ended the first half with a 34-point lead, 44-10, and continued shooting into the third quarter.
The Bison were led by sophomore Sabina Shysh (Tucson, Ariz.) with 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Shysh was followed closely by senior Zamica Gage (Washington, D.C.) with 16 points, eight steals, four rebounds and four assists.
Two other Bison scored in double digits including Warren with 12 points and sophomore Kori Koss (Green Bay, Wis.) who scored 10 points off the bench. Freshman Michaela Evans (Chattanooga, Tenn.) led the team as she pulled down 10 rebounds followed by Danielle Morris (St. Louis, Mich.) with nine.
Penn College senior Jamie Steer led the Wildcats withg a game-high 19 points as well as five rebounds, one assist and one steal.

The Bison will return home to face non-conference foe Randolph College on Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the Field House at 7 p.m.
