WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's basketball program has officially released its schedule for the 2015-16 season as announced by head coach Stephanie Stevens, who enters her fourth season as head coach. The new schedule features 14 home games and 25 total regular-season games.
GU begins its season at home on Saturday, Nov. 28, against Oberlin College. The Bison will start the month of December with a weekend on the road on Saturday, Dec. 5, traveling to North East Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent College of St. Elizabeth and then head over to Penn College in Williamsport, Pa. on Sunday (Dec. 6). GU returns home to host Randolph College on Dec. 8 before hosting the annual GU Holiday Tournament on Dec. 11-12.
January will be full of NEAC action beginning and ending on the road in Pennsylvania. Penn St.-Abington, the defending NEAC champions, will entertain the Bison to begin the month on Tuesday, Jan. 5. The Bison will be home for two doubleheader weekends in January beginning on Jan. 9-10 for the second match up against Penn College and St. Elizabeth. Then on Jan. 23-24 the Bison welcome New York foes Cazenovia College and Morrisville St. College. GU will host NEAC champion Penn St.-Abington on Jan. 26 before ending the month on the road at Lancaster Bible College (Jan. 30) and Penn St.-Berks (Jan. 31).
February will begin on the road for a weekend in New York before closing out the regular-season slate with five consecutive home games. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Pink Game will be on Saturday, Feb. 13, against Wilson College. The last regular-season game will also honor the women's basketball seniors on Senior Day, Saturday, Feb. 20, against Penn St.-Berks at 3 p.m.
The NEAC tournament begins the following week and runs from Feb. 23-28.
