Bison Wrestling Defeats Radford 36-6 in First Home Meet in 9 Years

Led by Justin Lathus in the 235 pound weight class, Gallaudet defeated Radford 36-6 in the first home wrestling dual meet in nine years. Lathus had the team's lone pin today, pinning his opponent in 3:40.
Other Gallaudet wrestlers who defeated their opponents include: Christopher Cassell in the 157 pound weight group who won a 22-15 decision and Joseph Pfaff who won a 7-5 decision in the 184 pound weight class.
Like most wrestling programs nationwide which had been disbanded or downsized over the past few years, Gallaudet has also downsized their program. While Gallaudet no longer wrestles at the Division III level, Gallaudet Head Coach Thad Ferguson has revived the program as a club sport under The National Collegiate Wrestling Association, and Gallaudet is taking on opponents in several Eastern States.
The next Gallaudet wrestling match will be Thursday night at 7 pm in the Field House when Gallaudet takes on the University of Delaware.
