Gallaudet Women's Soccer Ends Season with Loss at Marymount: Coach Gumina Begins Planning For 2009 Season
The women's soccer team finished their season at Marymount, and Head Coach Sarah Gumina is already at work for next season as the new full-time head coach.
The women lost 8-0, despite another outstanding effort by goalkeeper Casey McCullough, who had 18 saves, and has played almost every minute of every game this year, as one of the most durable players on the team.
In previous years, the women's soccer coach was a part-time position which has affected recruitment and retention, as well as the off-season conditioning program. With Coach Gumina serving as the full time coach, the soccer team will have an improved off-season conditioning program.
Coach Gumina is also recruiting players for next year and has already made a recruiting trip to Maine. Wiith several solid players returning next year, Coach Gumina plans to bring in several newcomers for next year, as she rebuilds the program. With someone as committed and knowledgable as Coach Gumina, the future is very bright for Gallaudet women's soccer.
