GU scores a goal for a seventh straight game but lose to Goucher

TOWSON, Md. - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team ventured out of conference on Tuesday night and lost 3-1 to Goucher College on the road.
Gallaudet (3-5-1) lost for the second straight time in three days but continued a seven-game streak where the Bison have scored a goal.
Freshman Shaquana McDonough (Pembroke, Mass.) netted her second goal of the season on a penalty kick, nine minutes into the second half. McDonough beat Goucher goalie Regan Foy (five saves) for the score. McDonough's goal cut the Gophers' lead to two, 3-1.
Goucher forward Sisley Pumilia scored two first half goals as the Gophers led 2-0 at the intermission. In the second half, Goucher (3-6) tacked on a third goal at the 52nd minute when Kristen Gartside scored.
Freshman goalie Kara Gulvas (Crown Point, Ind.) made 16 saves in the loss. GC outshot GU 39-11 while the Gophers took six corner kicks, three more than the Bison.
The Bison return back to conference play on Thursday, October 1, with a road game in Dover, Del., to face Wesley College. The Capital Athletic Conference game will begin at 7 p.m.
