Gulvas notches 100th save in 5-0 loss to Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team was unable to slow down North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Keuka College as they lost 5-0 on the road Saturday afternoon. The Storm (3-2-1, 2-1 NEAC) scored three goals in the first 35 minutes and the Bison (0-8-1, 0-4 NEAC) were unable to recover.

The Storm were led by senior Jessica Bandrowski, who opened the game by scoring two consecutive goals in the ninth minute and the 27th minute. Bandrowski added another goal to post a hat trick in addition to two assists. Freshman Carly Sanford was on the other side of Bandrowski's two assists, as she added two goals of her own on the day.

Gallaudet's senior goalkeeper Kara Gulvas (Crown Point, Ind.) stood tough against Keuka's attack as she saved 17 of the 21 shots that she saw. Gulvas notched her 100th save of the season and currently leads the NEAC in saves and ranks fourth in Division III.

Gallaudet looks to rebound as they travel to Aurora, N.Y, to face conference foe Wells College (2-7, 2-1 NEAC) tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 29), at 1 p.m.
