MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team lost to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Morrisville State College, 3-0, on the road Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs (8-6, 6-4 NEAC) scored all three goals in the first half. The Bison (2-12-2, 1-7-1 NEAC) were unable to come back from the deficit.
Freshman forward Bailey Rutan led the Mustangs with two unassisted goals at the 18th and 30th minute marks. Freshman forward Amber Welsh had the third goal for Morrisville with an assist from junior midfielder Krista Baxter in the 21st minute. The Mustangs led 3-0 at halftime.
Gallaudet senior goalkeeper Kara Gulvas (Crown Point, Ind.) saved eight out of Morrisville's 11 shots. Morrisville St. goalie Angela Marriott made three of her four saves in the second half as Gallaudet registered four shots.
GU will take on Cazenovia on the road in the second to last conference game of the season tomorrow (Sunday, October 20) at 1 p.m.
