CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team fell on the road North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Cazenovia College on Saturday, 3-0.
The Bison (3-13, 1-8 NEAC) were able to hold Cazenovia (5-7-1, 3-6 NEAC) to only one goal in the first half, but not for lack of trying by the Wildcats, who took 16 shots against senior goalie Jennifer Livengood (Jacksonville, Fla.) before the break.
The Wildcats wasted no time in the second half, attacking the goal with 18 more shots. Livengood made eight more saves. Unfortunately, Cazenovia was able to net two shots within two minutes to widen the gap, 3-0.
Three Bison were able to take eight shots in the game, led by senior Megan Calik (Conyers, Ga.) with five shots (three shots on goal), sophomore Anastasia Murray (Raleigh, N.C.) with two shots, and freshman Brittany Mallach (Milton, Ontario) with one shot.
- Livengood set a season-high record of 18 saves
- Cazenovia took a total of 34 shots, 21 on goal
- Cazenovia took nine corner kicks while the Bison took two
The Bison remain in New York for the weekend, travelling to Morrisville St. to face the Mustangs at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18.
