ARLINGTON, Va. - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team lost, 3-0, to Marymount (Va.) University on a picturesque Wednesday afternoon here at Long Bridge Park.
Gallaudet (2-6), winners of two of its past three games, has now been shutout three times this season. The win snaps a three-game losing skid for Marymount (4-4).
Freshman Brittany Mallach (Milton, Ontario) led the Bison with three shots, two shots on goal, as Gallaudet tallied seven shots in the game. Senior goalie Jennifer Livengood (Jacksonville, Fla.) made seven of her nine saves in the first half for the Bison
The Saints scored two goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime and added an insurance goal in the 84th minute. Marymount's first goal came in the sixth minute when Brooke Hillenbrand assisted Kirsten Campbell for her fifth goal of the season.
- Gallaudet was outshot 37-7 in the game and 21-3 in the first half
- The Bison doubled their shot total in the second half with five shots
- Olivia Stein (Tucson, Ariz.), Justina Ercolino (Milton, Ontario), Anastasia Murray (Raleigh, N.C.) and Ashleigh Weatherholtz (Front Royal, Va.) all had one shot in the game
- Livengood has made nine or more saves in four games this season
GU returns home to host Penn St.-Abington in a NEAC game on Saturday night at 7 p.m. under the lights at Hotchkiss Field.
