WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team capped off a tough weekend here Sunday with a 6-0 loss to Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.
The Bison (2-7, 1-6 NEAC) struggled to find their offense against a tight defense by Wells College (7-3, 4-2 NEAC) which held GU without a shot until the 78th minute.
Wells was led by freshman forward Emma Booth who put the pressure on Gallaudet in the first half scoring two goals. GU freshman goalkeeper Silvya Levesque (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) kept the Bison alive with six big saves in the first half.
The Bison went into the half down 2-0.
In the second half, the Express continued to control the ball and wear down the Bison defense, blasting the ball toward the Bison net 15 times. Wells' defense remaind strong, allowing just two shots on goal.
Booth found the scorecard two more times assisting on Mackenzie Maloney's seventh and eighth goals of the season to put the game out of reach for the Bison.
Wells tacked on two more scores in the 65th and 76th minute.

Gallaudet looks to rebound when it travels to Lancaster, Pa., on Wednesday, Oct. 5, to take on Lancaster Bible College (6-4, 5-1 NEAC) at 2 p.m. in a NEAC game.
