WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's and women's swimming and diving program will have a "Kickoff Meeting" for anyone interested in joining the team for the 2014-15 season. All returning swimmers and divers are required to attend as well. The meeting will be held in the Field House on Tuesday, August 26, from 5-7 p.m. in the G-41 team meeting room.
Third-year head coach Larry Curran and his coaching staff will review what is needed to join the team, practice schedule and meet participation. The first practice for the 2014-15 swimming and diving teams will be the following week on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Gallaudet will host its first meet on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. in the Field House pool as the Bison welcome Ferrum.
Gallaudet's men's team won its third North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship last season while the women's team placed third overall at the conference championship. The two programs have a combined four NEAC championships between them. Coach Curran was the 2013-14 NEAC Women's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year last year as Gallaudet had 25 All-NEAC honors.
