YORK, Pa. - Junior Carlisle Robinson (Carmel, Ind.) earned Capital Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week honors as the conference announced its swimming recipients for the week of February 2. This is the first CAC Athlete of the Week award for the Gallaudet swim program this season.
Robinson won three events in the team's final regular-season meet vs. College of Notre Dame (Md.) last week. Robinson won the 200 freestyle (2:08.91), 200 butterfly (2:35.50) and the 500 freestyle (5:47.00). She was also the anchor on the second-place in the 160-yard freestyle relay.
This is the third CAC Athlete of the Week award for Robinson in her career as she shared honors last year after the College of Notre Dame (Md.) meet on February 3, 2009 and was also honored her freshman year for the week of January 15, 2008.
This is the ninth CAC Player of the Week award for Gallaudet University this season, the fifth for the winter teams. Last season, the Bison only had four CAC Player of the Week honorees for the entire year.
Gallaudet will now prepare for the 2010 CAC swimming championships that will be held on February 12-14, in St. Mary's City, Md., on the campus of St. Mary's (Md.) College.
