Kang, Ransom continue to lead GU women's track and field as Bison compete at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Sophomores Leslye Kang (Wayne, N.J.) and Mariah Ransom (Snellville, Ga.) performed well for Gallaudet University at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg University on Saturday to lead the Bison women’s track and field team.

Kang was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 36.80 meters while Ransom finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.12 seconds. The duo joined sophomore Shadoe Williamson (Austin, Texas) and freshman Lindsey Corthell (Orlando, Fla.) to form the GU 4x400 relay team that placed third with a time of 4:22.00. Corthell was 13th in the 400-meter dash as she finished in 1:04.75.

In the throwing events, senior Amanda Lyndaker (Croghan, N.J.) as she placed 27th in the discus with a throw of 16.43 meters and 32nd in the shot put with a toss of 5.83 meters.

Gallaudet will next compete at the Mason-Dixon Outdoor Championships hosted by Gwynedd-Mercy College in Pennsylvania on May 5-6.
