Krieger named CAC Volleyball Player of the Week
YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference player of the week awards and Gallaudet University senior outside hitter Amanda Krieger (Carmel, Ind.) was named the volleyball recipient for the week of October 12.
Krieger helped the Bison record a 5-0 week where Gallaudet won the Worthington Classic. Krieger earned MVP honors in the Classic as she made 53 kills, 35 digs and 14 service aces. She had 12 kills, five digs and two aces in a shutout victory at York, then averaged 3.79 kills per set, hit for .280 and contributed 14 aces and 35 digs in four weekend tournament victories.
This is the second CAC volleyball player of the week award for the Bison in 2009. Fellow senior outside hitter Justine Jeter (Noblesville, Ind.) earned conference honors on September 28.
Gallaudet will next travel to Salisbury, Md., to face the Sea Gulls from Salisbury University in a key Capital Athletic Conference match tomorrow (October 13) at 7 p.m.
