Lehmann named CAC Volleyball Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference player of the week awards and Gallaudet University senior libero Shana Lehmann (Frederick, Md.) was named the volleyball recipient for the week of November 2.

Lehmann accumulated 125 digs in five matches last week for the Bison as Gallaudet posted a 4-2 record. She averaged 25 digs per match last week. In addition to helping the Bison clinch third place in the CAC regular-season standings, Lehman recorded 32 digs against 23rd-ranked Eastern University and 30 digs against Washington & Lee University as GU participated in the Seahawk Invitational at St. Mary's (Md.) College.

This is the third CAC volleyball player of the week award for the Bison in 2009, the most in the conference. Fellow senior outside hitters Amanda Krieger (Carmel, Ind.) and Justine Jeter (Noblesville, Ind.) earned conference honors on October 12 and September 28, respectively.

Gallaudet will next host a Capital Athletic Conference first round match on Tuesday, November 3, at 8 p.m. in the Field House. GU is the third-seed and will welcome sixth-seed Marymount (Va.) University with the winner advancing to Thursday night's semifinal round.
